2 weeks at least if at all possible. A trick I use if it sneaks up on me is to mail them out as soon as I can...then follow-up with a friendly phone call to "see if they got the invitation". People are really bad these days about RSVP's (especially for kids' parties) and this is a nice way to see if they plan on coming.

2 weeks is plenty of time. If you mail out to early you run the chance of people forgetting. Good luck!!

At least a week in advance. that way your buddies can leave that day open an work around it. This always works unless something was already planned there before.

2 weeks if you need RSVPs. People (myself included) tend to think they have plenty of time to respond when they see a far off date and then end up forgetting.

About a month b-4,that way you will give them time to leave that day open,and you will nedd time to figure out how many people will come and how much food you would need.

I think that if you give a two weeks notice that would be fine. This would give someone to plan on the day, buy a gift and rsvp back to you.

I have always followed the 30 day rule myself. Gives people time to shop, plan or whatever preperations they may need.
