It would all depend..... I say yes, if not he can get there faster with meeting the right person with the gift. Let's see if I can explain this.
If He was a negative type person when He died, he would be afraid to go to the light, therefor he most likely would be stuck here on earth as a ghost not realizing that he is dead. Although he can still get to Heaven, if He finds a person that has strong aura, it gives off a strong bright glow, paranormal force emanating around somebody, I'm sure I have this, and this woman friend I know, help me to understand it, she is highly gifted, and is the one that died as a little girl., went to Heaven, and came back. The ghost are attracted to this glow, and if you know what your doing, you talk to the ghost and help it to find the light to Heaven. So if you a positive person you go right to Heaven cause your not afraid of the light.
I hope I gave you enough of an answer to understand, there is a lot to this, and I am still learning, waiting for the next ghost comes to communicate.
Ghost are dead people stuck on earth.
Spirits are dead people that come to visit from Heaven.
Guardian Angels are with you all the time.
Some so call ghost are live people, these are people that while asleep, their spirit comes out of them...appearing as a ghost.
That's a little extra information to help you understand.

You don't read God's Word for if you did you would know where the dead are. Absent from the body is present with the Lord.
Take the example of Lazarus and the rich man. They both died and went to Heaven. There is a gulf that separates the goats from the sheep. The rich man was on one side and Lazarus on the other.
My answer is they are both in Heaven awaiting the final judgment. The White Throne Judgment. God will judge all then.><>

If he got his Spirit Recreated, he is in Heaven.
Sinning dosen't send you to Hell.
Adam messed up his Spirit when he Committed High Treason, and passed that messed up Spirit to every body else. We are all born Lost on the EARTH since Adam. If you Leave EARTH for Good with out getting your Spirit Recreated you can't go to Heaven.
Can't handle GOD's LOVE (Power) with a messed up Spirit.
GOD is Lord over TIME, GOD can reach some one by Extending (expanding) a few second's, and give them time to accept JESUS and get them Born-Again(Spiritman Recreated). Your Friend could very well be in Heaven.
Jesus apeard to Saul and was Instantly Born-Again and went on to write two-thirds of the New Testament.
Sinning brings Curses down on you, but won't keep you out of Heaven. Not getting Saved and Leaving the EARTH for Good will.
Hope this helps.

As a life-long Christian, I would be doing a disservice if I wasn't truthful w/you.. Since he knew what he was doing, it is a sin; a breaking of one of the commandments. Also, God will not forgive a sin when you are knowingly going to commit it. There's no forgiveness AFTER the act. I am very sorry for him but it isn't too late for you. Hell, by definition, is eternal separation from God. I cannot think of anything worse. Sincerely & in His name, Valerie

Your preacher is right...but according to the Bible, he is not in heaven. According to the Bible, your friend committed murder. He murdered himself. He also idolized himself. And falling right in line with that, when one idolizes themselves...they commit the sin of not acknolwedging that there is only one God. When we focus on ourselves, we become our own idols. When it comes to times like these, we must be willing to line up the actions with the Word of God...and the answer will always be there. But we must be willing to accept the answer...the truth. And God's Word is always truth; though it may hurt like mad in our hearts.

If you're serious, then I'm sorry about your friend. I don't believe in heaven or hell or Christianity in general. I don't rule out an afterlife of some kind, and I'm sure if there is one, then your friend is just fine... and even if there's no afterlife, he's still just fine.

i believe that if someone is in such pain that they take their own life to end the pain, then i could never condemn them for their actions...and since God is greater that we can even imagine, then God has more compassion and understanding than me. so if i would forgive and comfort a soul so tormented in life to commit suicide, how could God be less forgiving and comforting than me? depression is a physical imbalance...not a sin. people who commit suicide could not be punished for that. they cannot be responsible. God has to be merciful, because we would be merciful and understanding. if you believe in heaven...then believe your friend is there and is comforted.

As children most of us are taught: "good people go to heaven when they die and bad people go to hell when they die."
Isn't it time we transcended the fables of childhood?
No one has gone to heaven except the Son of man (John 3:13).
And hell?

Where are they?
In their graves!
"Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth, they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life, and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation" (John 5:28-29).
The King James "damnation" is from lthe Greek word "krisis", meaning "contesting".
The "contesting" takes place in a second physical life after the 1000 years. The vast majority of mankind is not being called now.
Some of the ones who are "contesting" in the future will still not repent. And they will cease to exist. The words "you only live twice" will be only too true for them.
