Why is it impossible for humans to actually ignore other's religions, and their religions will not be insulted? Anyone with half a brain and a heart would understand that people don't like their religions and beliefs being insulted and trashed, and if they don't do it to others it will not happen to them. Why? It is not really all that difficult to say "Hmm, I don't agree with their religon, why not ignore it!"? Maybe because their evil self sitting on their shoulder keeps poking him and whispering "Come on, it will be fun. Insult! INSULT! INSULT!!"? In my belief, that is Satan constantly nagging us to bother others. Another question, why were Adam and Eve so persuaded to listen to Satan? Please, no athiest answers- wait athiests can answer, as long as no insults or conflicts arise. I will collapse any answers I find to be insulting and give no second thoughts. Thanks for your answers!

People get very emotional about religion because their beliefs are important to them. But how they go from fervently believing that they (and others who believe the same thing) are the only ones who will be rewarded in the afterlife to killing and raping those whose beliefs differ is a big mystery.

I am a non-believer, but among my close friends are a couple of Buddhists, several Orthodox Jews, two Assemblies of God ministers, some fervent Catholics, and others of varying other faiths. As long as they don't put me down for not believing, I don't say anything negative about what they believe. I honor their faiths because I respect the people and that is part of who they are. Why does it have to make people violent if somebody else believes something different? I just don't understand it!

So I'm not really answering your question, just saying that I share your bewilderment.

The problem is that all of the major religions are so dogmatic and they teach that they are the only true religion that leads to God. Many of the holy books speak against other opposing religions and in some cases orders them to attack and kill memebers of the oppsite religion. Most religions teach that members should spread the word and convert others and do that speaking about how there beliefs are better. They just can't keep it to themselves according to their God's law.

It seems as if its human nature to be in conflict with each other. Religion is just one of many justifications to go into conflict with each other. Maybe the easiest means to a conflict. It justifies ones existence. Attack what is holy to one, and you will have conflict. It is also one of the easiest issues to use by the "powers" to divide and rule nations. Nothing beats a holy war......

People not at peace with their own beliefs, feels threatened by people with different beliefs and convictions. Those ones will always be in conflict with the ones who believe differently.

I don't know, I don't waste my time worrying about other religions. That is time that I use focusing on my own. I guess sin was human nature from the beginning.
