What should I do if my girlfriend isn't folding my laundry the way I like it?

I like my underwear unfolded and neatly put in my top drawer but she is folding them in half and sticking some in the drawer below. Also, I like my socks folded into a ball and not tied together. But she folds them by tying them together. I haven't said anything yet, but its been a while and I'm thinking I might need to say something but not sure the best way. I mean she doesn't know I've taken my laundry over to mom's a few times because she folds better but I don't usually do this because my girlfriend uses fabric softener and mom doesn't use it because my dad doesn't like the smell. I mean my girlfriend washes clothes great, its the folding part I don't like because its not what I'm used to, plus my mom creases shirts better.

LOL, That's funny. Okay, in case your serious, then here is what you do. When she is folding your clothes, help her once. When she starts to do some "wrong folding", come up from behind her and reach around through her waist and say" Baby, I love that you help me with my laundry, but would it be okay if you folded this this way"?, and proceed to fold it the way you like, but make sure there is a compassionate kiss and some love going her way for the gratefulness you feel and want to show her for what she does for you. Now if you don't like that answer, and you feel that you should be able to just tell her she is an idiot and doesn't know how to fold laundry, then I think you'll be going to Mom's alot more. Good luck, and I wish my girl would wash my clothes. I do all my laundry myself. You lucky guy you!

for me I like to have my clothes a certain way as well, I just showed my husband how to do it, and if he doesn't get it right, I refold them, we just laugh because we are so opposed of each other. He likes his dress shirt's a certain way so he does it him self. I watch him, and I try his way, just can't seem to get it right. If you don't like the way your girlfriend folds your laundry, why not say something. She'll understand. It's only clothes. Your mom knows how do did as she has been doing it a lot longer then your girlfriend. Maybe you should also ask your mom was your dad picky about the way his clothes had to be, and if so what did she do to make him happy.

Well, you're either going to have to talk to your girlfriend or go back home and live with mom! One of the first keys to a successful relationship is having good communication skills. Be honest with your girlfriend without putting her down. Say something like "I want you to know how much I love you and how much I appreciate all that you do to make our home a comfortable place to be. It's really been fantastic. You do so much for me, but is it ok if I ask you for one big favor? Even though it's weird and you're going to think I'm weird please don't take this the wrong way... but if you happen to throw my clothes in the washing machine, could you skip the fabric softner and just use an unscented dryer sheet (hopefully you have some!). It will be easier on my nose that way and not clash with my deodorant or cologne. Plus I like the way clothes feel without the softner part. And please don't feel like you have to fold my socks, I can do that on my own."

You sound like a sweet guy who doesn't want to hurt his partner's feelings and that's great. But don't let the little things bottle up inside you... it will lead to bigger problems down the road.

I apologize, but I stopped at the first sentence of your question. I can clearly see that maybe your girlfirend is sending a message. Perhaps since obviously you know how you like your laundry folded and your mother, you two should be the only ones doing it. Maybe your girlfriend is an excellent cook, or good singer, lovemaker, etc. Laundry isn't the department you should relegate to her.

You two are not married and she is doing your laundry. Then you have the nerve to complain...and ask this question. The average man would love to have this problem. Why don't you tell another man so that he can steal your girlfriend. Then you can go back to having your Mommy go back to folding your clothes and live happily ever after. Problem solved! You can either ask her and show her how you want the laundry done and (she'd be a fool do so) or do your laundry yourself (how it should be).

Why not help her fold the laundry a few times? That way she will pick up on how you like to fold your clothes and you don't have to sound like a jerk by tell her "You're doing it wrong, I want it this way."

Are you nuts???? Your GF is folding laundry the correct way.

Underwear folded in half minimizes the space used in the drawer. Socks should be tied not balled because balling them up stretches the ankle of the socks.

You have to reevaluate yourself... Your GF is only teaching you the CORRECT way to fold laundry... Get used to it.

If you don't like the way she does it do it yourself. Some men would be happy to have a woman that is willing to fold their laundry at all.

Well you have to understand something my friend you don't live under your moms roof anymore and your girlfriend is not your mom.....So you can do 1 of 2 things you can tell her how you like them folded and see what she says (I would say your lucky I am washing and folding your clothes period and if you don't like it take em to ya momma's) or you can fold them your self

oh my god ! mommy does your laundry , are you old enough to be on your own and have a gf . no relationship works if you don't talk . you should be grateful that shes even doing it . but i suggest you thank her and use your mouth tell her you appreciate her helping you and ask her if she would do it how you like it . I'm real picky about how my clothes are folded too. my bf folds mine alot and he does it how he wants to , personally id rather do it my self and he knows ill refold mine ..the way i like it . but that's OK with him he wants to help and i let him .
