Bless you Nicolle. I saw that and I've run out of Questions for the day.

I think this 'black or white' kind of thinking is pure laziness. There is absolutely no reason why some of it can't be true while some of it is. In fact, we often find this to be the case in studying history.

I will also point out that the individual in question just tried to steer a person obviously suffering from depression into a religious program, suggesting there is nothing wrong that religion can't cure.

Tells you something about where she's coming from.

'Either all or none' is a false choice. It lacks all the choices between those two extremes. Don't fall for poor logic.

Let Gods word be true and we all liers ! Can you honestly say that if all people would do what the Bible says this wouldn't be a much better world ? The Bible is true there's no doubt in my mind about that , and don't think i'm mister rightous because I have done just about every sinful thing that could be done.Since I have become a christian though I find an inner strength that helps me do what was not possible before.Face it though ,what makes Gods word not true are the people who say they are christains and still want to live like the devil. Then we have people that are so caught up in their selfs and weak that there only consolation is to blame God for their poor estate or say His word isn't true.If they are so smart why don't they figure out what is true and live that part, espeacilly since they are so sensative about always desiring the truth.Pilot ,when Jesus was before him ask "what is truth?"Pilot could not see the truth as it stood before him ,because he listened to the people. Please don't be like Pilot and listen to the people.I will be praying for you as soon as I send this, won't you pray to as soon as you get this.Don't take the Pilot road thats full of lies and deciet.John 18:38

Because the Bible is the word of God, supposedly, but it has been translated by man many times. Therefore, the Bible is correct word of God but only as far as it have been correctly translated by man.

Man is not infallible so there could be some interpretation mistakes. To blanket the Bible as totally untrue is not logical. It hold truth of mankind and how man should treat mankind. It has the guidelines on what good moral standards are and how life should be lived. How you interpret it is up to you, it could have mistakes or incorrect meaning of the different languages but to say it is all true or not, is like saying all women are made to serve man. Some women are made to serve their man, and others serve themselves. I hope you get what I am saying?

That is what I think anyway.

I think those who utter such restrictions are lost to Gods love. Nowhere does it say in scripture that anyone must accept ancesteral interpetations as the only truth. The hero of the Bible said he came to tear households apart, yet we are to believe the reasons why he had to do such? Sense is what the Bible is supposed to teach and if were not teaching sense from it, perhaps it is time to follow Only Gods love.

The Bible is not one book written by one author, it's a collection of writings by many. It was never written by God, yet we're told it was inspired by Him.

The different authors of the writings that make up what we know as the Bible, were Meir men, they were human just as we, and far from perfect, they too, were capable of mistake. Yet how could anyone be so quick to "trash" an entire collection of writings because there was doubt about a single author?

It's not that it all has to be true or none of it is. It's that if some of the Bible isn't true, then there's really no way to know what is true and what isn't. Part of Christianity is believing that the Bible is the inspired word of God. If some parts aren't inspired, then what should we be basing our faith on?

You nailed it. Your opinion. I believe it is. My opinion. People can have different opinions, and neither will ultimately "know" until it is to late to do anything about it, and that goes for both sides. I am quite sure a christian who followed the bible, only to find out after death that, that is all there is, would be very disappointed in how he lived his life. I know I would be.....

I wouldn't believe that Someone guy...
A part of the Bible is just Jewish history, part is methaphoricall and, also, there are some parts which should be taken like they are!
Could someone say this claim is not true?

I think that bible is a metaphor so that there's a base that is true but that has been arrange to hide the true story. So it'd be partly true.

I believe that to be a fact. How can someone take what they view is Gods word, and say well, except this. it either is or it isnt. Its not about absolution, but who are you or me, or the man on the moon to say God really meant "this"?
