Get a steamer. It is soo much better for the toys then the harmful cleaners. Don't get me wrong I used those too, but since buying my steamer, it is better. It is hot water that comes out in steam and you wipe with a clean rag.

Don't spray your baby's toys with lysol disinfectant. You could poison your child. I don't know why you are compelled to disinfect your baby's toys anyway. My mother raised 10 of us children, and never disinfected any of our toys, and we turned out just fine. As well, I've raised 6 of my own children and didn't disinfect my babies toys and no one actually died from it. But if you really have the need, use common sense. Anything washable, wash in hot soapy water and dry in a hot drier for an extra 10 minutes. You could iron anything that could be ironed on the cotton setting with no steam. Rubber toys and some plastics can be either boiled for 10 minutes or placed in the dishwasher. Anything else can be wiped down with hot soapy water and rinsed with a solution of 10% vinegar in boiled water. Don't use disinfectants no matter how "kid friendly" they claim to be, it could be dangerous.

I wouldn't use Lysol on baby toys. Javex diluted with water is much safer. I worked in a day care and this is what we did once every week. Fill a bucket with 1 part bleach to 2 parts water. wipe the toys down with a cloth that has been wet with the solution. It will not only clean the toys, but eliminate the germs too in a safer way than Lysol .

Just don't clean them. Think about it for years people haven't been cleaning toys and been fine! So why start now? Also also after time germs will become immune to disinfectant things (antibiotics) and they'll be so strong that we wont be able to kill them. So best advice is use wipes like baby wipes and don't use them like everyday. Since there is no harm in leaving toys the way they are w/o cleaning.

We liked the Pampers Clean 'N Play Wipes (see website below for description, we found them at Babies R Us). They were really helpful for when our daughter went through that stage where everything went in her mouth, and for when she received a new toy (we'd clean it off first). I don't know about spraying with Lysol anything the child might put in his/her mouth...there's nothing on the website either way. You probably want to check with your pediatrician, but it doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

a solution of 1 part clorox to 10 parts water is an acceptable disinfectant for spraying down, then wiping down kid's playing surfaces and non-washashables. (exclude stuffed animals, in fact stuffed animals should be discarded when dirty, they harbor soooo many germs!) invest in a load of paper towels as well!! best of luck!!
