... the idea of karma (Hindu?) and Buddhist teachings? Kind of like a new age-type religion that encompasses Christianity as well?

I read a book by Elaine Pagels Called Beyond Belief and she spoke of a Pastor who studied with a buddist monk and started to teach about peacefull teachings...that buddists valued...You should really get that book..its awesome!

The Dali Lama says to follow your own religion and add the teachings of the Budda. I have seen books that compare the teachings of the Budda and Jesus. As a side note, some people believe Jesus studied in a Buddist Temple in India. Also, the God of the New Testament is much different than the God of the Old Testament.

teachings of karma go against christianity, especially Protestantism. Therefore, they cannot encompass one another, only repel each other.

to cover whatever you want to believe in...
