the system erases them, automatically, after some time, but i've got the computer just where i want it, and i'd like to save the restore point from being deleted. any way to do this, without having to save ALL restore points?

if you're talking about norton ghost, i haven't the money to spend on it, and it seems to get terrible user reviews. if a separate program is needed, something free- or shareware would be most useful.

i want to reconmmend you to use Ghost, clone tool. i have used the xp restore function, but it is not stable, sometime does work. and i lost confidence on this function, now, i use Ghost, it is nice, u can store the clone file as you like, no other software will delete the clones.
