I'm not sure why it matters, especially if you think it is ok..

but:

crossing his legs? - not a clear indicator

best friend is a guy? - generally the case with most straight men, in fact if his best friend were a woman.. that's more of a gay thing..

never wants to go out with females, not attracted to anyone? - doesn't mean he's gay.. he could even be clinically depressed

now if you caught him making out with a dude or blowing your boss under the desk.. THAT's gay...

otherwise - I think you should keep your speculations to yourself.. this fellow sounds like he might be socailly maladjusted anyway, so rumours about his sexuality will probably just make things worse for the poor guy.

I have a friend that I work with. When he first started, everyone assumed he was gay, so I just asked him plain and simple. He is sensitive, walks and talks sensitive, and has the mannerism of a feminine guy. But he is not gay. Not only did he tell me this himself, but he told me about how growing up this has always been a problem for him. People would just assume he is gay for the way he acts. He's a horticulturist, and he knows his plants. I have been friends with him for about a year now and he is a great friend at that. I have a good girl at my side and when the three of us go out, it's funny for me and Joe get the looks, so we do pretend some and freak people out. My girl really seems to get a kick out of it. He has gay friends and that is just fine with me as long as they know I'm not. When I first met Joe, i was relieved to see him at a club kissing a female though. You can never judge a book by it's cover is so true.

Sorry lady but some guys ( mostly old school ones ) have been known to cross their legs and be straight. He has been married before and probably has a very realistic outlook on females. So he doesn't want to hang with your yack pack and listen to mindless dribble. Keep in mind ladies, just because a guy doesn't want to hang with or go out with you doesn't mean he is gay. It may simply mean you're not his cup of tea. Deal with it and leave him alone. This guy is obviously good looking. Women never seem to worry about ugly guys not wanting to hang with them.

Wow, I am really surprised at the ignorance of some of the answers. The only way to know if someone is gay is if they tell you. And given that you are only co-workers it is obvious that it is none of your business. Even if you were friends, it would only be your business if he decided to tell you.

Having been married, having children do not preclude people from being gay. And being burned by the opposite sex does not make someone gay.

Maybe he is just trying to find himself before he starts dating again. Sometimes a bad breakup can make someone shy around people of the opposite sex. Or maybe he is gay, but is it any of your business?

It does'nt mean he is gay, maybe you don't know if you just work with him how do you know what he does when he goes home.....maybe he has a girlfriend and is just a very private person...maybe he has been hurt too many times to want to be with anyone right now..

If you are interested then it would make sense but if you are not why ask?? To me it sounds like that he wants to be my himself for awhile maybe he had a bad breakup or someone turned him down that you people at the office don't know about.

He's probably gay. But to be sure does he look at the girls when they walk by or does he look at the guys when they walk by? It doesnt matter if he was married before.
