Just talk with her - on the phone would offer you a more comfortable way of talking (versus nervous face-to-face...). Bring up football games and homecoming and then ask her if anyone has asked her. If she says no, just ask if she'd like to go with you. It sounds like she will say yes! Good Luck!

Perhaps instead of pre-scripting the perfect conversational subject you could create a nice moment and just ask. Everyone has fear of rejection on some level. Just be sure not to let it stand in your way. Be creative and have fun with it. Chances are that she told her friend to tell you that she wants to go with you.

If her friend said she wants to go to homecoming with you, what's the problem? Ask her "would you like to go to homecoming with me?"

Ooh, ooh! Fun. :)
Talk about something that'll lead to football. If you have any upcoming games, bring it in and talk about if you like going to the games and such things... Then ask if / who she's going to Homecoming (with). Then, if she's available, ask if she'd be willing to go with you. If it'd be more comfortable for yah, you can always say that you could go as 'friends'. ...but if not, go for it! If she's already said she likes you and wants to go to a dance with you, she's obviously not going to turn yah down.

Pretend I am you. "Hey (insert name here), you know homecoming is coming up. .....You going?....I'm thinking about it. You going alone or with some friends? .....really? would you like to go with me?" Just about anytime you can use that, like when you are at lunch, walking down the hall, or after school. Good luck
