Since you have very fair skin and brown eyes, you could lighten your hair to a chestnut brown color, or medium brown and freshen it up with some subtle highlights. Don't try to do it yourself, however, you'd be better off going to a salon to have it done, and avoid costly mistakes that could damage your hair and need to be fixed professionally anyway. Since your natural color is black, there tends to be a lot of natural red pigments in the hair itself, and the red pigments are the last to lift when lightening your hair. You will need to lighten your hair at least 3 to 4 levels in order to get another color to set into the hair shaft and for the color to take.
I wish you luck.

DON'T dye it !! Especially if you use a straightener. The combination of that plus the dye will destroy your hair, and it will be all frizzy then. People dye their hair because there isn't enough color there, or it has turned gray. Your hair is a great color, and I'd really suggest you don't color it.

I dye my hair all the time I've done black and red mostly but my natural hair is dark brown...so it depends on ur style. I luv to do the redish brownish and get TONS of compliments on that so that would always be cool.

Dye your hair color the same color as your eyes, this makes your eyes stands out with your hair look nice together,

why don't you keep it black but add like a red, dark red, purple, or blue hue to it. you can find those in mostsally stores. these are colors where you can only really see them when the light hits them a certain way. so you have a change but not a really drastic one! good luck

ask the local hair salon what color would look best on you, since you have fair skin i would go with something not as dark as black.
Natural always looks the best though and you won't have to deal with the negitive efects of the dye

Try auburn or a medium brown... it will compliment your natural coloration. Don't be afraid to tone with some reds.
