Is there any chance this will develop into something good? Or, should I just give up?

I'm sorry to tell you, but this means she really does just want to be friends. If you continue to "go after" her you'll also lose her as a friend. If you accept what she's saying and stay friends/friendly she might change her feelings for you in the future and you might get back together as boyfriend and girlfriend... Girls don't tell you they just want to be friends unless it is really how they feel. Good Luck!

Take it literally. Save yourself the heartache and be her friend, if you can. Most of the time, people fall in love after they have become friends. Scenario; she Say's she wants to just be friends, you want more so you pursue it, and she gets annoyed and then the friendship dissolves and you become a thorn on the stem instead of the rose above the thorns. Be her friend. Let it be that. If she does have more of an interest at a later date, then you can pursue that. But if you care about her, respect her wishes and just be there for now without the expectation that she wants more and you won't be as mad or hurt when she dates someone else. I hope this helps. Hmmm, I don't know...
But i can say this...My bf was getting really sexual, never stopped talking about my body and pressuring me for sex acts. SO i told him I just wantedt o be friends. I Do LOVE him, even now, but I fell in love with the career-minded, resposible, funny, cute, adorable, fun-loving guy, NOT a sex maniac. H e took a change for the worse.
Myabe she likes someone else.
Maybe she has alot on her mind: colege, job, parent probs..
Maybe u do something that makes her uncomfortable.

it usually means that they are trying to be nice about breaking up with you........ give her a few days time and then try to be her friend back again. try not to say anything to make her feel awkward....... and show her you still care for her.... she'll eventually come around.
