Had a few false starts at giving up - often managed to stop for two to three weeks then, almost by instinct, just started again.
It felt right having one in my hand... but that changed.
In the end i just said to myself - 'do you want to grow old as a smoker.' and i stopped. It's been five years now... and every so often i still fancy one.

Six months (twice). Pressure (stress) started it off again. Each time you give it up, the more you smoke when you start again. HELP!

23 years.
Cause I never started.
But I have seen people go many years, then just start up again when something happens.
