Ahhh... The age old question of nature vs. nurture. For every person you ask you'll receive a different answer. The most important thing is for you to remember to be true to yourself. This doesn't mean to indulge every whim you have, but to really introspect and get in touch with who you are. Many young people experience sexual confusion especially with bisexuality being so en vogue these days. Don't make any snap decisions and don't beat yourself up for your feelings.
Whatever you decide just make sure that you've followed your heart, mind and instincts.

I think the question you need to ask yourself here is - "Why do i want to change?"
If you try and change to make other people happy, or to 'fit in' with society better, then you are denying yourself the chance of happiness and you will probably not succeed.
If you want to change because you don't like being bisexual, then address that, why dont you like it? Has someone made you feel ashamed?
Will you really be a happier person by trying to change such a huge part of your personality?
I suggest some sort of counselling, i dont know where you are, but in the UK we have the gay and lesbian helpline; perhaps try and find something similar in your area and talk it over with someone properly.
You should never have to compromise who you are in order to please others, stay true to yourself, and please consider taking the help that is available to enable you to deal with this in whatever way you ultimately choose,

The change that is being affected is that a person stops acting on the desire; but the desire remains. I t's no different than a person having to give up a loved food due to health risks, it's hard but necessary.

well I think everyone is bisexual to an extent. Being defined as heterosexual or homosexual or bisexual is a Choice of identification and behavior, so yes, you COULD identify as and act straight, or gay, but like most other mamals, you'd really be bi.
Define yourself and behave in the manner best for you.
