i know that the majority of the people here are americans, but, don't you think that the russian fighter jets are better than the americans? in many simulated air battles between russian and american planes, in most of the battles the russians jets won, the planes involved were, f-16's, f-18's, f-22's, vs. Su 27's, Su 30's and Su 37 terminator...see ya, greetings from argentina

Greetings to you. Objectively? I don't know. I'm not aware of specific simulations but I would have a few questions about them right off.
1. Who conducted the simulations?
2. Who was piloting each aircraft?
3. Were the pilots equally competent?

I suppose one could never really know until there were actual hostilities involving both nations aircraft directly engaging each other.

I would suggest you get out of the computer and watch real world combat maneuvers in Germany's red flag war games F-18's took on MIG-29's the 29's didn't do so well. Ever since the 1970's when US planes locked horns with a MIG or SU it was a bad day for the russian. Here are examples 2 F-14's vs 2 SU-22's the SU's were Libyan results US 2-Libya nothing. F-15's vs MIG-29's All MIG's destroyed 1991 Iraq war. Israeli F-16's F-15's haven't lost an air battle yet. To be fair the SU-27 and family are still combat virgins so we don't know for sure but if history is any guide at all it will still be a bad day for the SU-27 and family. Our sensors and fire controls are way better and these are the things that help the pilot most now a days.

I confess that I don't know much about planes, but I would think it would involve more than a few simulations in order to determine the best. It would depend on how well and how many hits each plane can hold up to, how they handle in certain types of weather, the pilots, etc. It would also depend on how easy the plane is to handle and maneuver out of of different situations. I still have to say that the American jets are better though, and not just because I am American either. We have made great advances in our technology and they are continually evolving it.

Absolutely No Russian fighter is superior to any American
fighter. What battles are you speaking of??? The battles between Russian and American planes were in Korea
and Vietnam and the American planes whipped their butts every time.

US fighters will hold their own against Russian stuff. Getting the Russian stuff back up in the air is problematic. Long turnaround time and very short TBOs.

The USA has the best fighter jets, all the other country's buy them from us. The best fighter was the f14 tomcat. So just remember the USA has the best fighters.

ITS NOT THE PLANE ITS THE PILOT. IF THEY SWITCHED PALNES AND DID IT AGAIN DO YOU THINK THE AMERICANS IN RUSSIAN JETS WOULD WIN?
