i've never wanted to live pass 35 since a child and still. i'm 28 now. the only reason for me to live a good life is to comfort my mom, not that i would live a bad life or commit suicide, but there's just nothing that makes happy. i'm not searching for richness, long life, power, or anything, i mean, i'm happy for who i am and what i have but i just don't see the purpose of living. we will all die one day right? so why live? if i have a choice i rather not to be born. can anyone tell me what's wrong with me? am i depressed? if so, i'd be depressed since age 10 or even earlier.

Yes, you sound depressed to me. Chronic depression can last for years, and can start early.
You mention your mother, but not your father. Loss of a loved one can certainly start a depression which, if untreated, can become chronic.
Bear in mind I'm not a doctor of any kind, and any 'diagnosis' I provide should be checked by a real doctor. But I've known others who suffered as you seem to, so I provide this advice.
As for "why live", you may find yourself looking at that question a little differently without the depression. Each of us can bring joy to another (as you are doing with your mother) and can find joy in the love we give. Don't give up on happiness in your life.
I hope this helps you.
Peace.
P.S. - Do not let those who are religious recruit you into their religious program. Deal with the problem through a doctor first. It is wrong of them to exploit your problem and even more wrong for them to steer you away from good medical advice. You need help, not their brand of 'salvation'.

Possibly you are depressed. or possibly what you describe is just your unique outlook on life.
There is a way to tell which it is. There are tests called depression inventories that you can take. If you live in the States, early in October there will be NAtional Depression Screening Sites where you can take a free anonymous screening. (Keep in mind, though, that a screening is just a screening and not conclusive.)
You can also talk to your doctor or see a counselor to be evaluated.
Possibly you have a problem with your brain chemistry that will respond well to medication. Some forms of depression get better with talk therapy, or a combination of both.
I wonder if something in your life has affected your outlook. I'm interested in your statement about comforting your mother as being the main reason to live a good life. I wonder what is behind that statement and whether this might be fertile ground for your to explore with a counselor.
It is indeed possible that you have been depressed since childhood. If this is true, then you probably don't remember a time of not being depressed so that you have a level for comparing your feelings and outlook.
I hope you will get this checked out to see if you need treatment--I wish you all the best!

Hi It sounds like you are suffering from depression and I am sorry that you feel this way. Look around you or go to your local hospital and see how some people suffer and be thankful you are sort of ok if you were not depressed. Could you do some charity work to try and bring some comfort to either the elderly / children / or disabled etc. By doing this it may give you some purpose in life. Do you not wish to meet someone to have a romantic relationship with one day. Or to have children and by giving them a happy life it will make you happy and glad that you are here. Why don`t you go to your local church and ask if you can help in your community etc. And priority after the bank holiday make an appointment at your local doctors and tell them how you are feeling. Ask if you can have some counselling. If you feel troubled at any time ring the samaritans. You are 28 you could have a possible 60 ish years or more think positive God bless you and good luck I hope you find happiness and the will to live.

Schizophrenia is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a mental disorder characterized by impairments in the perception or expression of reality and/or by significant social or occupational dysfunction. A person experiencing untreated schizophrenia is typically characterized as demonstrating disorganized thinking, and as experiencing delusions or auditory hallucinations. Although the disorder is primarily thought to affect cognition, it can also contribute to chronic problems with behavior and emotion. Due to the many possible combinations of symptoms, there is ongoing and heated debate about whether the diagnosis necessarily or adequately describes a disorder, or alternatively whether it might represent a number of disorders. For this reason, Eugen Bleuler deliberately called the disease "the schizophrenias" plural, when he coined the present name.
Diagnosis is based on the self-reported experiences of the patient, in combination with secondary signs observed by a psychiatrist, clinical psychologist or other competent clinician. There is no objective biological test for schizophrenia, though studies suggest that genetics, neurobiology and social environment are important contributing factors. Current research into the development of the disorder often focuses on the role of neurobiology, although a reliable and identifiable organic cause has not been found. In the absence of objective laboratory tests to confirm the diagnosis, some question the legitimacy of schizophrenia's status as a disease. Furthermore, some question the status of schizophrenia as a disease on the basis that they do not consider their condition to be an impairment.

It is very possible to be depressed since child hood, could be a chemical imbalance that is causing it. It would help you to have a better outlook on life if you seen a psychiatrist for this.

Yes, it sounds like you're depressed (Psychology major here, LOL).
Fortunately, there's help. Jesus Christ came to heal the sick , not the well. He came to save the lost, not the found.
Trust Him for your salvation & you'll be given something to live for.
