I once saw it in a documentatry called "The World's 10 Most Deadliest Martial Arts" (or something likes that... it was a long time ago!) on The Learning Channel. They showed men and women taking the nastiest hits in all kinds of places without any ill effects.
Unfortunately, I can't find anything about the MA itself, or the documentary on which it was featured. So if you can tell me its name, I'd be just ever so thankful.
P.S. I'm writing a fanfic, in which I'll use this info. If you help me out, I'll let you be the first to read it!

There's no one art that teaches that, it's mental conditioning. The show you watched probably showed some Shaolin monks, they often have those demonstrations.

Its kung fu. Hittign in teh weakeds points with the strongest blows. It may be Dim-Mak- death touch. Death touch is the most point based fighting its practices hitting one single point and stoppign the opponents from living. Kung Fu as well does this. But so many dialects of Kung fu are around. To be more
exact i will chose three types.

Tiger style: Tiger style kung fu looks like boxing when practiced. But when used on an opponent it is striking opponents where they are most vulnerable as well as where they most weak. For example a well placed tiger palm strike would be placed in such part as a solar plexus shot, or on a joint to dislocate joints.

Snake style uses chops and an extended hands to chop in joints literall cuttign through a persons vitals to dislocate or rip muscle. a snake shot to the throat or arm can dislocate an arm like venom running through the persons limb.

Eagle talon kung fu is the most associated with Dim-Mak style of fighting. It uses one arm to gaurd you keep you style tight and you use your power arms thumb, rign finger, and index finger as a poking tool such as a beak. Your goal in this stance is to push on a pressure point as hard as you can using your wrist, ultimately piercign hte skin but at the same time ripping muscle organs any thing you can rip out with your "weapon".

Thats what all martial arts are makign your body a weapon... But kung fu utilizes it literally making your body a weapon making ti rigid and attacking. Jujitsu also utilises such moves but i don't know enough about it to make a full analysis i'm working on it but just like any other martial art it could take me years or even teh rest of my life to understand it. Hope i helped some what good luck on writign your fan fic!

After doing some research, I would have to agree with Buddha. Prior to getting to the Ninja Level which includes movement with samurai swords, Martial Arts/Karate more or less deals with your mental focus in other words which is your Chi.

wow, it seems no one on here knows martial arts... it's all about mind over matter. i've seen it many times. usually taught to shaolin monks. it's a very difficult teaching that isn't too common these days. i've seen it on ripley's too. there isn't a specific style that teaches mind over matter, as far as i know. but that's what you're refurring to.

Oh my....

yeah man, pain tolerance is all in your head.

Seriously, there's no one art that's better than another for something like that.

You either take the shot, or you do not....simple as pie.
