I am not a black girl..but I did experience anorexia way back in the sixites, before they even really knew what it was. ..I am a very bright talented woman,..and for me, what triggered it in the first place, is when a guy l liked called me a 'big horse' to my friends..so I was SOOOO hurt, that I decided to lose weight. I lost 55 lbs in three months...I lost it soo fast, that to me, i still looked fat in my eyes and mind...for eight months i stopped having periods, and went down to 105 lbs, at 5'8"...my nickname needless to say , was twiggy...I was obsessed with everything i ate and for the first time in my life, I was skinny like the models were...until one day, my sister and I decided to do our hair a blonde color. So we went outside and put a big mirror against the fence, because we were perfectionists, and wanted the roots to be perfect lol...and i got a look at myself in the mirror. I looked like a concentration camp victim...not one guy thought i looked good, and they didn't fail to tell me. I was shocked, and for a fleeting moment, thought, "goodness, look at her?"...I then started eating and gained up to about 125,..and got a great little body...I suffered for years trying to look skinny...and now that i am older, I have learned that the only one who really matters is me pleasing God, and I am never going to try to destroy this temple again like that...so, if you are a religious girl...just know your body is your temple, and you have to take care of it for Father God, and Jesus...and you know im right about that!!! God Bless, and Good luck...I would actually be interested myself to know if any other black girls are suffering anorexia..because most of them are built so magnificently, and their men usually do NOT like skinny women like that....Good luck to you and don't be afraid to eat and get healthy again.

SURE, MANY BLACK GIRLS ARE SUFFERING WITH THE SAME DISORDER. BUT MOST ARE AFRAID TO ADMIT ITBECAUSE THEY THINK THAT THATS A WHITE PERSON'S DISEASE. SURELY, IT ISN'T. I'M BLACK AND I HAVE SUFFERED WITH AN EATING DISORDER. I WOULDN'T CALL IT ANOREXIA BUT I WILL SAY THAT FOR DAYS AND DAYS I WOULD GO WITHOUT EATING BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID OF GETTING FAT. AS A RESULT I LOST 18 POUNDS - 118 TO 100. I GET TALKED ABOUT NOW MORE THAN EVER BEFORE BECAUSE I'M SO SKINNY. IN MY EAR ALL I HEAR ABOUT IS HOW I NEED TO EAT. YOUR SOLUTION: JUST PRAY AND NOW THAT YOU ARE NOT ALONE.... I'M HERE AS WELL AS MANY OTHERS. DON'T BE AFRAID TO EMAIL ME- IF YOU NEED SOMEONE TO TALK 2 ABOUT IT.... DRGEE23@YAHOO.COM
