They're usually trying to show off & look cool to their friends. They don't seem to realise how retarded it makes them look.
Ohh, and I guess it's a bit like the internet. Y'know how people are often abusive and slag off others online? It's because of the anonomity, no-one will be able to find out who they are. It's probably similar in the car situation, it takes a few seconds to get away from the person they yelled at, so there is little chance the person will find out who they are or confront them in that brief time frame.

Ignorance and lack of respect for others. It makes them feel powerful, however if you put them in a crowd, I bet they wouldn't be acting the same way. Chickensh*t syndrome.

i'm totally agree with phoenixheat.. they usually do it when they have other friends in their car.. it seems like they're trying to show off in front of their friends.. when they're alone USUALLY they keep quite..
probably deep inside their heart they know it's just ridiculously stupid..
