Start by using baits like buzz baits in the early morning casting at banks with cover and access to deeper water. Move a little deeper later in the morning throwing a bait like a rattle trap. Throw a worm or jig later in the day, fish it slow. Good luck.

not sure about the difference between cold an warm water fishing, but lures are the way to go in my opinion. you can reel in a lure, making it move like a fish, bait on the other hand, like worms are totally different.
