Depends on how many calories you take in.

Hi. How much do you want to lose? Do you have a healthy goal? You will certainly lose some weight by running, but your body will probably level off after a few pounds. A more effective workout would be to complement your running with weight or yoga training. Building tone muscle will help you become more fit overall, because muscle constantly consumes fat (even while you sleep!) Don't be suprised if you eventually gain a couple of pounds after your body levels offs, because you'll be replacing fat with dense muscle. But you'll look and feel better!

The run itself does expend energy, to get you where you are running to, but the weight loss that comes from being a runner, is about theraised metabolic rate that your body engine runs at, after you have made running your routine. You will burn more fuel/food sitting at a desk, than you did before, as you have stimulated and toned your muscles, and they will be preparing for the next run.
Running is a great habit to form. Enjoy!

Hi
All my queries with regards to calorie burning and metabolisim were answered through this link so here goes,
If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx

Good luck

It depends on your food/drink intake. If you keep away from sugary foods/drinks, fatty foods, pastas, rice, and you drink lots of water, you should do well. Also, introduce light weight training as well. The benfits of running are burning off immediate calories and increasing your metabolism to help burn them when you aren't running. Get good shoes and don't overdue it

Lots....but what you put into your body is pretty important, too. It's not so much that running melts fat (although it does) but it gives you the stamina to keep burning calories with whatever else you're doing. Running + something else is maybe best, I guess.

Well... First, you have to walk 30 minutes. Then 1 hour ... etc. Then, you can run whatever you want!!! You can lose (if you want) like 10 lbs. Good Luck!!! Take care!!! :)

I just got bigger!

My thighs bulked out so I had to go up a jeans size!

I only walk now, or run a treadmill with zero gradient.

By running alone, not much I would think, but then again, everyone is different, I would imagine that if you combined a low calorie diet with your efforts then you should see results!
