Father Christmas has his origins in the person of St. Nicholas who was a bishop in the early days of the Church. However, while the Church honors St. Nicholas on Dec. 6 every year, there is no room for Father Christmas in the Christian way of faith. Father Christmas (aka Santa Claus) is a purely secular invention and has nothing whatsoever to do with the birth of Jesus.

Father Christmas originated from St Nicholas who was in fact a man that gave presents to the poor. As a Christian it is better to give than to receive. An act of goodness is born out of love, something we all must try to do

Do you mean that old bloke with a beard that sits in the back of a shop & puts little kids on his lap? I'll believe right up until the time he gets arrested.
