They are required by regulation to explain the use of seat belts, how to exit
the plane (on the ground!) in the event on an emergency. the use of supplemental oxygen etc. The "speech will differ with who is giving it but as long as all items are covered, the FAA is satisfied.

It's the exact same speech on every airline and it has to do with the safety features of the plane. Pay attention to it because the information is important.
