Are you talking about negroes? Daddy says we can be friends with them now. We hate illegal Mexicans now. Daddy is always right even when he drinks.

Wow....you actually seem to think that everyone in South Africa is white. It might come as a shock then to realize that only 13% of South Africans are actually white. So the odds are pretty good that a person from South Africa who moves to America would be considered an African-American by any standard.

I would still consider that person as South African living in America, not an African American. If they go to naturalization classes and become a citizen and pay taxes, then I would consider them an African American.

As far as I know, an African American is someone born in the U. S. and of African descendants. So, someone from South Africa is an African.

I have white friend from south Africa and we have pondered this issue.

the verdict:

technically, yes, he is an "African American" does that mean hes considered or perceived as an African American, not even in the slightest. if anything white south Africans are some of the most hardcore racists out there! these guys were able to live IN AFRICA and enforce racist laws!!! they are really the hero of any racist or fan of racist's world history.

Hi, Big Nasty,

If he simply resides in the USA,
he is still a South African citizen.

If he has become a citizen of the
USA, the he is simply, and Citizen
of the United Sates of America,
no matter what color, creed, race.

Enough of separations!
We are one Nation!

LOL that is so funny. Probably not. AA just means black. For some reason some blacks think it is derogatory to have themselves called black, yet they call me white, which I find odd. Call me European American dagnamit. I'm not white. White is the color of paint. Any way, if you are a white south african i'm afraid you's just white.
Luv yah anyway.

The term refers specifically to black African ancestry; not, for example, to white or Arab African ancestry, such as Arab Moroccan or white South African ancestry.
