The Bible indicates that God revealed His will to selected people through dreams or visions in Scriptures such as Genesis 8:12; 37:5-10; 1 Kings 3:5-15; Daniel, chapters 2 and 7; Matthew 1:20; 2:13,19; and Acts 10:9-16; 16:9. God may communicate through dreams or visions even today, but we need to carefully check any such guidance we receive with Scripture and godly counsel to be sure it is from the Lord. Anything which contradicts Scripture is not from God. Our minds and even Satan are capable of producing great deception in such subjective areas. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 shows that God has revealed His will to us primarily through His Word. It says, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

A person’s life is full of dreams. Dream can be about one’s ambition which he gets fulfilled with the passage of time thru his own hard work, intelligence, good planning and with the blessings of Almighty. Another is day dreaming which is really not a good habit and can be controlled with one’s will power. But what about the dreams a person experiences during sleep. Do they hv effect in our real life? What do they mean? What is their interpretation? The person asks to his friends, elders and seniors in his social circle. Sometimes he gets satisfactory reply and sometimes not. These days Internet is a rich source of information. So one does not need to depend on others for one’s dream interpretation. The Yahansmaniac Community member suggests the following.

If you were a guy, it would mean you're having a wet dream, but if you live in an appartment with a water tower on top, it means there's a little girl that drowned in there, and you should call the police to have them fish her out... and you're going to die...
Oh, that was just a movie. Ignore that part.
If you're floating in the water, it means that you're very uncertain about things, and events are sweeping you away with them. Generally, rain means cleansing, and crying, but it's just stuff you'll get over anyway. Lakes often mean hope.
Also, according to Sigmund Freud water, in any dream always means sex. Of course, Sigmund Freud thinks everything means sex, so don't take his word on it... go to the beach and find out for yourself.

water can mean lots of things
water = obstacles, problems, money
dream of rain can mean trouble, obstacle, but some will say finanical burden or money comes in your way. Basically, there is no fixed meaning in rain or lots of water. It all depends on the detail of your dream and what you were doing in the dream. More details will be helpful to analyze yoru dream.

Pure water occurs as rain, and forms the river of life, crystal clear, This river you would find in Heaven.
Furthermore, Jesus said, "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)
Also Jesus said, drink me, the living water, and you'll never thirst again.

We have a completer Word of God where nothing can be added or taken away. God is not dealing with people through dreams. Maybe you drank to much water or maybe it started raining. Colossians 1: 25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;

Maybe you were dreaming of the "latter rain" that is mentioned in the Bible and that some hypothesize represents the pouring out of the Holy Spirit when Jesus comes again.
Hosea 6:1 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. 2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. 3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
Zechariah 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
