I've seen one blue pup for £950, another for £1,000 but read somewhere that there's no such thing as a rare colour in Staffs. Is it worth looking around or are they all this kind of price?

They are really a Grey and white shade of brindle...and look fabulous. Staffies are wonderful dogs if you socialize them and fix them/neuter them as early as you can and discourage all their innate aggression. They cost so much-these blue guys-because they look great, and some I hear are from Ireland. Send me an email if you'd like to talk Staffies!

All about the price. There are also people who breed rare "Reds". Which actually can go back to the Old Family Red Nose line (OFRN) from Ireland. These are pit bulls though, Blue is being considered as a "fault" for AKC AmStaffs. Since all AmStaff stock originally came from UKC American Pit Bull Terriers (APBT's) and there were no "blues" back then. So it is theorized by some that any APBT or AmStaff with blue in its pedigree is not "pure". It is thought that this could be a miz between a APBT and Cathoula dog, also a mix where the "merle" color pattern came from (which already is a fault in all AKC, UKC and ADBA events).

There r a lot of "backyard breeding" and people r not doing the necessary health and temperament tests that need to be done before breeding and r just breeding any "pretty" dogs. Please do the research and u can find a great dog if u really open ur options (even mutts r less expensive and can be a great dog)
