I don't know much but you can go to http://dogbreedinfo.com/Pomeranian.htm for some questions you might have. If you're getting a reddish colored pomeranian then Red would be a awesome name.

Any dog can have problems, it has to do with the mother. If the mother barks alot, you can bet, no matter what dog you get, they will too. My aunt has a Pomeranian, it is very well behaved and loving. I definately reccomend it. But like I said, It all depends on the degree of breeding. Red is a very cute name. Oh, and, it has alot of hair, take good care of whatever dog you get. An animal is a big investment.

The only experience I had with Pomeranians was very good. It was a happy, playful dog. However, it needs a lot of brushing and if you don't have time for that, get another breed.

I have 3 pomeranians. They are wonderful dogs! Very good for cuddling. All of mine were natural lap dogs. They do require almost daily brushing but all 3 of mine enjoy it so it isn't a problem. Mine are named Prissy, Cody, and Petri. If you like the name Red then I think you should go with it.

I have a Pom and I will tell you they r great dogs to have. If you teach it right ,from the beginning not to bark ( we put our hand on his muzzle and said QUIET)there will be no problems. They r friendly, loyal and smart. They do not require alot of exercise ( which makes them good for people in apartments). As far as grooming goes , I shave mine in the warm months and leave his fur long in the winter. Poms tend to have some medical problems.i.e .collapsed windpipe( but other small breeds can have that as well) My dog is on meds for it and lives a full normal life. If you are looking for a loyal, loving friend for life you can not go wrong with a Pom. We recently got a Doberman and my Pom accepted her and actually helped with training her(follow the leader) when it came to housetraining and leash training. I love both of my dogs but my Pom is the best breed of dog I have ever owned. I say if you want a Pom go for it. And name it what ever you like We named ours Harley Davidson,( my husband wanted a bike, this is as close to one as he is gonna get lol ) .

I have a pom and he is 11 pounds and he is sweet but 89 % of poms have small dog syndrom where they act like large dogs and may take them on even. I like petsitting my friends choco lab and he pics on her soo bad that its hilarious. They do need alot of brushing and they can get hyper, and one really cool thing is a group that i have joined called 'active pomeranians' on yahoo. But one thing to keep in mind is to NEVER EVER shave a pom right down to the skin. Because there fur grows in horribly and even worse then it was before. hope that this helped.

Pomeranians. are great little dogs. they are especially good if you have limited space. Another thing good about them, is they have the fluff of long hair. but not so long that it is a hassle grooming it. As far as the name, I am not in favor of that. Ginger mayb e. or a famous redhead. like lucy. for lucille ball. perfume names. slang. I have bred shitzus and the poms are easier to take care of. nice bright eyes and a great smile.

Poms are great dogs. Not really fond of the name Red, maybe Rusty for a boy, or Scarlett for a girl.

by all means get one, or even two, We have three, Peanut Butter, Midnight Lace and Ebby (the last two are mother and son and solid black,) They are super protective, and yet so wonderful. They love to be loved and have your attention. Life without a Pom would be heart breaking.
