I can't really help you as I just got a dog and have 2 cats. They are slowly being cool with sharing the same space. But everything I've heard is that it takes time. I think one of the biggest problems is they play differently. My dog starts jumping and when it gets happy. That freaks the cats out.

But what I really wanted to say here is that it isn't hopeless and cats and dogs are not natural enemies. Dogs do see cats as prey and cats sense this. But the cats and dogs thing is an old wives tale. I know many that live together super well. good luck.

You can't really do anything. Your cat just might take a long time to get used to the dog or the cat might never like him. Just let them be and your dog will learn to leave the cat alone and/or the cat will eventually warm up to the dog.

I will take some time for the cat to finally get use to the dog. Just watch them so they don't really hurt each other.

that's already been suggested. My cat hated all different animals, then she had to move in to my ex-girlfriends domicile and she or he has a small dogs. both had some animosity, yet they cling out mutually now and actually get alongside.

Let them get to know each other better, but you don't have to force your cat to like the dog. If she/he just doesn't like the dog, but they don't fight. I would just leave them alone, they will soon learn to accept the other, give them equal love. Give your cat his/her own room, somewhere to escape from the dog, and same as your dog give him/her somewhere to escape.

give them separate areas to sleep and eat and let time pass. They will probably grow use to one another, though the cat will still hiss if dog gets in its space too much

theres nothing you can do. cats and dogs are natural enemies. sometimes if a cat and dog have known each other since they were puppy and kitten, they can get along, but it isnt likely to happen with two adult animals especially if your cat has been chased by a dog.
