What is the definition of a metro-sexual guy ? I was told its not a man thats gay..but one that is well groomed, wears nice scented colognes and is not so macho.

A well-groomed, fashionable, outgoing heterosexual male... he's in touch with his feminine side, cares about color coordinating and how his hair is styled but he's still straight.

a metro sexual guy is what we call a hipster or those who are so into fashion and stuff!!
gets his hair done at least once a week, always wears the newest cologne when he goes out, wears expensive fashionable clothes ( top fashions )
gets his eye brows waxed, his nails done, every thing.
goes clothes shopping a lot etc.
that's what a metro sexual man is!!

any "man" that gets manicures or pedicures is a metro. one who spends way too much time grooming and not enough time drinking. a person that simply CANNOT leave the house in jeans and t-shirt. they have to be dolled up in order to go to the corner store for a pack of Kool's.

It's the degree of "how much" - any hair products other than shampoo, any other scent than aftershave and the occasional cologne, - that's metrosexual. So are manicures, face lotions and potions, massages just for "relaxing", way too much interest in clothes other than functuality, etc.

In addition to vashsunglasses`s answer, "metro" refers to the fact that there men are usually found in large urban centres (metropolitan areas), hence "metro". And his appearance appeals to both genders. Androgynous is the older word and synonym.

A metro sexual is a wimpy guy or some dorkwad loser who is trying to fit the model of what the jerkwad hollywood types say is in. I however am a man and would like to lick your belly. . . among other things. . ha ha ha ha ha!

It is a guy in touch with his feminine side but isn't gay, so yes he would be well groomed, always smell good, and might say a few gay comments

I know a metro and he is definitely not gay, but he carries gay-like tendencies, like commenting on fashion and , yes isnt too mcho.

I would say its a guy who is very well groomed, and is very critical about his appearance. He doesn't necessarily have to act "girly". Every woman out there would prefer a guy who takes extra care of himself. I know I would!!!! My bf can't even keep his nails clean!!
