The Islamic calendar, ie Hijri calendar, is lunar based. The one based on Jesus' birth is based on the Sun. The Muslim year is 354 days long while the Gregorian calendar is 365 days.

So the days change every year between the two.

Ramadan comes two times a year, 6 months apart and lasting for one month. It is a time of fasting and talking of religion and prayer and is much like the Christian "Christmas" and "Lent" before Easter, but lasting 4 weeks. instead of 6 weeks.
