I would like to ask some questions. How much? Is it bright red or dark? Is it in the stool or on the stool? Is there blood coming out of the rectum or is it stuck to the stool? Has the baby's temp been taken recently? Does the baby have a fever? Has the baby had diarrhea? Is there any vomitting? Does the baby act painful?I would call the doctor's office with the answers to these questions.

If the blood is bright red (like the other person said) it's most likely from the passing of a "hard" stool. Your pediatrician could probably recommend a stool softener for babies. Make sure your baby is getting enough water. They can get dehydrated in the summer resulting in less water in the stool making it hard to pass.

Although babies first stool is called marconium, thais has a lot of blood in it and is very dark coloured.

If your baby is 2 months, wait a day and every time the baby has blood and is visble (called frank) record the amount (Lge, small, med etc) and colour (black, red, green etc). Take this info to the dr who will then help you if this problem continues!

If it's a bright red color it may just be from passing a large stool. If it's dark, it's internal.

I would call his doctor.

Talk to your doctor, but it might be anal fissures. I read that this can happen in newborns, but please call your pediatrician, in case it is something more serious.
