We didn't just appear here out of nowhere.

I don't think that. I concede that I have no idea where "it all" came from... if it "came from" anywhere or anything or anyone at all.

I don't feel the need to fill the gap in my knowledge with guessing, mythology and blind faith.

Why do people think some one being created the universe? Why not a hundred? Skyscrapers aren't built by one man. Universes are much larger. Maybe it was created by a whole army of gods? And you're right, I didn't just appear out of nowhere. I appeared from my mother's womb as did you unless you were hatched.

Matter/antimatter has always been there in some form or another, maybe quarks, maybe strings, but the bottom line is you're right, we didn't just come out of nowhere we most likely evolved as according to the modern synthesis of the theory. And just because you don't know how it happened and this religion provides an answer doesn't mean you have to believe it or that it's true.

No matter what, we're left with the problem of something appearing out of nowhere. If we believe in god, then god just appeared out of nowhere and always was. If we don't believe in god, we're left with the same problem: some process or potential or whatever just appearing out of nowhere and always existing. If one thinks about this long enough, it's very very disturbing. It's difficult to get the implications across to those who don't see where this leads to but, when one does, they realize the problem and it's very very difficult to get our minds around.

Nobody believes that "someone else besides God created the world", because if they did, that someone else would be God. People believe that there is no god and that everything evolved. Nobody can prove what happened, and there is no evidence that there is a god, so what's the point in making one up?

People don't think that 'someone else' created the world - intelligent people realize that there is no god!

There is, or will be a reasonable, scientific explanation for everything eventually. Science involves investigation, analysis, changing initial ideas and more testing as things move from guesses, to theories, to facts.

Weak people prefer to use fairy tales to explain things they don't want to take the effort to figure out - it really is pathetic.

I just learned the answer like a week ago and here it is: At one point of time everyone was in one place. That time was after the great flood. God told the people in the ark to separate but didn't. They decided to make a tower to reach all the way to Heaven (the tower of Babel.) God got mad at them and confused their languages. Everybody then separated out in the world. Later on, after they separated, they forgot about God and started to think wrong ideas. But you know what? The guy that told me this said that most of the people who live in tribes and unknown or something believe something or someone created the world.

Because there are other ways the world could have formed, aside from someone creating it. As long as people can think and there is more then one option there will be differing opinions on things.

If you say we did not just come from no place, then you are saying something can not come from nothing. Well where did god come from? Oh, he is eternal? So things do not need a creator. Either your god is eternal, or your argument falls apart. But if things can be eternal, so could the universe. Your argument goes nowhere. This is usually where you guys say no one can understand him. Well maybe you just don't understand the universe.

Because most wouldn't be caught dead saying "aliens brought us here." All that does is move the Creation to another planet.

There's only two other options - Natural or Supernatural.

Neither can be proven scientifically. But, even "primordial soup," & the gases of the "Big Bang" had to come from somewhere. They didn't just develope out of thin air either.

Those who don't believe in God ( or A god) can't choose to be created by Him. It's completely implausible to them.

Some people believe that the Earth came from a Creator masturbating; others believe that the Earth came from the sexual union between two Gods; others believe it came from God's sneezing; still others believe that it was willed into existence; and yet more people believe that it is one of an infinite number of Earths ruled by an infinite number of believers-turned-Gods.

I believe that the Earth was created over billions of years from verifiable physical processes. I guess it all comes down to what makes sense.
