I have been a vegetarian my entire life. I don't give arguments. I think it is a very personal decision. Personally I am vegetarian, because it would be hypocritical for me to eat meat. I couldn't stomach killing anything to eat, so why have anyone else do the dirty work for me? BTW- I eat incredible, gourmet restaurant vegetarian food.... definately not discusting.

If you prefer to eat vegetables then that is a choice you have made for yourself. Im not a vegetarian, but by eating all of those vegetables how are you suppossed to get all of the protein you need; taking supplements? I wouldn't necessarily take supplements because the natural way is so much better. When you get all of the richness and wholesomeness right from the source then you're going to be healthier and feel better; it's not just something compacted into a capsual.
I don't know how far of an extremist vegetarian you are but whatever choices you make, make sure they all can benefit your health.

Being a vegetarian doesn't mean being healthy -- I've known too many vegetarians who are proud of themselves because they don't eat animals, but then pork out on french fries and ice cream and other "unhealthy things"... but because they avoid meat, they feel superior.

You can be a healthy vegetarian and you can be a healthy meat eater... both take self control, though, because you have to make sure you get the right vitamins and the right amount of protein and the right amount of whatever else they are saying is good for us these days... if you get it from a plant or an animal or a pill, healthy has more to do with what you are taking in and what you are avoiding, then what provided the food.

If you pay close attention to your vegetarian diet, and make certain you get the minimum protein every day, and don't overdo the fiber (It irritates the intestines and causes gas and bloating), and be sure to take your vitamins, you'll be fine.

As for me, I find it so much easier and more natural to eat a pork chop now and then.



P.S. Vegetarians really don't live ten years longer; it just seems that way.

I am not a vegetarian, but I have changed my eating habits in the past few years to a more veggie based menu... Lots of salads, and more fruit too...
Even though I still do eat meat sometimes and fish also.

Being a vegetarian, isnt really better for you cuz you dont really get all the stuff that you really need!

Short answer, no. Any Vegan I have ever known looked unhealthy, gaunt, discolored, etc. They are the gassiest mammals on the planet, except for cows. In addition, they reek of garlic because they use so much of it to make their plant matter taste like something other than dirt. My advice is, goto Morton's Steakhouse, order a filet mignon, and then ask yourself that question again. I'm pretty sure I'll know the answer...

Absolutely. There are lots of reasons to be a vegetarian including health ones! There is less chance of coronary artery disease, hypertension, obesity and some forms of cancer.

Yes - you avoid fats and toxins being put in your body if you eat organic vegetables and fruit.
