You know, birds do bite...no matter how much love you have for each other, they are still "wild". Lots of "experts" tell you to never let a bird get close to your face, because bites hurt, scar and can cause nerve damage. Study the times she bites you....what are you doing?...did you disturb her in the middle of something?...did you frighten her?.....and NEVER stop spoiling your bird! Give her treats when she's been a "good birdie"....Good Luck!

He Is Giving You Small Nibbles Of Affection. But If He Bites Too Hard, It May Be Because He Does Not Like You. A Good Thing To Do Would Be To Call Your Pet's Veterinarian.

I'm getting used to mine too ...I got 2 , one that I found on the sidewalk(about 2 weeks ago) she does bite very lite and only first time when I get close to her ,seems like an instant reflex than she starts giving me so much love.
the second one I just adopted it from PetSmart yesterday but so far she does the dance thing , sings etc but did not bite me yet.
But they both play with my dog , fly by us and talk to me and my dog , how sweet is that? they don't bite him ... they like to watch and talk getting closer and closer to my dog ...so my pooch loves the attention too :)

Good Luck :)

I think your cockatiel is doing what it would do to another cockatiel if it was bothered too much. It doesn't mean she doesn't like you. Try to read her body language and let her come to you. I would love it if my cockatiel would let me pet him. He's just too nervous.

You really shouldn't do that until you have her checked by a good vet. She may have "Chirpeeze". It's an untweetable canarial disease.
