As well as Babelfish which you need to subscribe to, Google do a pretty good Language Translation tool.

Works quite well, I use it every week for Business letters and Emails

Most Microsoft software does that.
For example: Spell Check.
What the heck is that supposed to be, its not English.
Do they mean 'Spelling Checker' or as Yahoo correctly says 'Check Spelling'.

If you want proper translations to other languages, its not cheap.
Try 'Sytran5 Office Translator'.

a good one for general translation is Babelfish with atlavista...
