but all of today he acted like he didn't it was sooo confusing is he ashamed to admit it i mean every one wants us to go out but it's not happining and idk

Ask him well in advance of the dance if the invitation still stands. If it doesn't at least you know and you can arrange something with someone else plus he's not worth getting upset over if he does let you down. Hope you have a brilliant time at the dance whoever you do go to it with.
