Decide what it really is that you want to do - and go for it! When I hit 40 I decided I needed to see more of the world and now go several holidays( sometimes only for a week at a time but longhaul). We have a nice home but it probably should have been redecorated by now. We have a small car whereas everyone round us seems to have massive cars with personal numberplates. We can't afford to eat out etc a lot but we LOVE our holidays and have been to so many great places.

Live each day like it's your last, dance like you don't care, love like it's your very first love, hug like you won't see them again and smile because it's much more pleasant!

The Last Time

Live every day He gives you
As if it is your last
Show compassion, love
And most of all, just laugh

Appreciate each moment
As if this is the day
When at the end, instead of sleep
He's taking you away

Pretend it is the last time
You'll see a darling face
The last time you could give a kiss
Or share one last embrace

Would you do things differently
If you knew this would be
The last day you would spend on Earth
The last time you would see

The sunrise in the morning
The stars come out at night
Your family and your loved ones
The last time that you might

Tell them that you love them
And give them that big hug
Go and do it right now
Don't turn the page and shrug...

'Cause what if it's the last time
You'll ever see their face
What if it's the last time
You'll feel that warm embrace

Life is too short for holding back
Too short for making do
And if this were my last day
I'd want it spent with you

It was reported from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet Muhammad(sallallahu alayhe wa
sallam) said: "The Hour will not come until the following events have come
to pass: people will compete with one another in constructing high
buildings; two big groups will fight one another, and there will be many
casualties - they will both be following the same religious teaching;
earthquakes will increase; time will pass quickly; afflictions and killing
will increase; nearly thirty dajjals will appear, each of them claiming to
be a messenger from Allah; a man will pass by a grave and say, 'Would that
I were in your place'; the sun will rise from the West; when it rises and
the people see it, they will all believe, but that will be the time when
'No good will it do to a soul to believe in them then, if it believed not
before' (al-An'am 6:158); and a wealthy man will worry lest no-one accept
his Zakat." (Bukhari, Muslim).

As long as you get up every morning and face the day you are not wasting it. Each day is full of interactions with the world around us and we are constantly learning and growing. I wouldn't worry about it. Feeling guilty about how you spend your time will not make more time for you. Just decide what brings you the most joy and spend as much of your time doing it as you can.

And it gets worse the older you get. I think that it is to do with living in the present and packing as much into a day as your energy reserves will allow. Children do this, that is why time seems to pass slowly for them. If they are on a long car journey, they will say after ten minutes, "are we there yet"? or if they are waiting for the summer holidays, it seems an endless wait.
By the way, if your avatar is a picture of you, cooor! brains and beauty.

Try never to make a choice or decision that you may regret or wish you had acted differently upon. Easier said than done, but do what your instincts tell you to do. Also, never put off until tomorrow what you can do today...thats an important one, as otherwise you could spend your whole life planning what you never actually see through.

And the older you get the worse it will be.

Take each day at a time - doing the best that you can, in all ways that you can, wherever you can, for whomever you can, then you will be making the most of life and be happy.

We all do; just do what you can.

A few years ago, I came down with a cancer. Still here, but amid some number of thoughts, I found myself thinking 'I've never been to South America'. Actually, I still haven't.

Why?

Dunno, really; it doesn't seem that good a continent to visit, really, though I could be wrong.

Point is...

just do it - you're only here once (unless you're hindu?)

Does any of that make sense?

Enjoy!
