I have the same problem, I went to the dentist, and he said i had to go to the orthidontist, i don't know if im getting braces, but that is a different story, anyway, my mom still hasn't called to make a opointment, & i went to the dentist a week ago.

I know waiting isn't fun, so let your dad make the opointment sooner, just remember, at least your not in high school! (braces look bad once your older!)

get the ones your mom wants~ shes paying for them and $2000 is a lot of money!!! if the dentist said wait then wait, your teeth might not be quite ready for them yet and if you get them off then you might just have to do it again. trust me you wont like them. I had them. they hurt (for a while) and you cant eat some food like you can without braces. corn on the cob and gum get stuck in them and food like apples and steak hurt to eat when you first get them on and every time you get them tightened. I really hope you only want them to make your teeth better and not because you think they are "cool" when you do get them make sure your parents stock the cupboards with soup, jello, and applesauce because thats all you will want to eat for about 3 days.

Do it as soon as you can and just get it over with. Having braces is no fun. I swear I would have licked the streets of New York City when I got mine off, I was soo happy.

braces arent as cool as you think. they hurt and you have to adjust. you can go ahead and try to get it over quicker, or wait as long as you can before you experience first-time-braces-pain, but since the doctor said wait - wait, because your teeth may not be ready, and it'll hurt even more (if he lets you get them)

You may have to wait if you have alot of baby teeth. If not you should be able to get started now. If you don't have to wait you shouldn't.

If the Dr. thinks you should wait, you might want to listen to him/her.

quit being a brat and do what the doctor says. also, since you arent paying the bill I suggest you smile, wear what your mom picked out, and be grateful she even cares how your teeth look.
tell her thank you. m

It's a matter of who's paying. Isn't it?
