At least in faiths where it goes "Believe in or go to Hell." Does that even really sound fair to people who believe it? There is no conclusive evidence for it, plenty of evidence that the whole religion has been skewed along with its sacred text, and nothing compelling towards a god unless you choose to fill the gaps in what you know with "God did it.". Or of course you simply don't want to think about it too hard.

So with all those facts and all the gods very very stubbornly refusing to actually provide something tangible to show the way can you really blame some one for not wholly devoting himself to this cause? Why should some one believe that a god did everything just because some one who already believed it told them so? Why should we believe that your book was inspired by your god? Just because a bunch of people say so? Does it seem so unreasonable to not do everything said deity "says"? So is it really fair to send some one to hell for simply not being compelled?

And would God really be such an insecure a$$ that he thinks everyone who didn't devote themselves so completely to hime deserved to suffer for eternity?

And if all these conditions were true and there was a God would you really want to worship such a jerk anyways?

P.S.
The world existing is proof of nothing. Don't tell me that, it makes no sense to anyone that doesn't have faith. I freely admit that I don't know how it came to be and don't want some prepackaged answer based on faith on how it was, that's just not how I see things.

Hahaha, I don't know about the rest because I don't think there is a hell but the bit about shooting missionaries made me laugh.

Ken Sisk, I am tempted to tell you how wrong you are, however, I'll stick to disagreeing and stating some things. Many more people have been killed by religion than there have been martyrs, Jesus resurrecting is not a fact so it doesn't prove anything that you believe it, and just because people died for something doesn't make the something more valid, a lot of people died for Stalin and Hitler too, I'm sure a few of them were tricked just those Jesus followers were.

Ken Sisk again, I like your position that you don't go to hell for nonbelief though, just because it is less arrogant than what some say.

My thoughts exactly. Hell is a ridiculous idea. Why make a good person suffer for eternity just because they don't believe in said deity? It makes no sense.

You may believe whatever your heart desires; but you will still be wrong if it's not the TRUTH.

Why should some one believe that a god did everything just because some one who already believed it told them so?
Because many eyewitnesses to Christ's crucifixion and resurrection were willing to DIE for what they witnessed...alll they had to do is recant. the same goes for the 100,000,000+ martyrs that have been tortured, burned, beheaded and all many of inconceivable deaths...just for what they believe..they didn't die asd terrorists or "Jihadists" like the Muslims have done...they died only because of what they believed and said, and would not back down because they knew it was the TRUTH. Not because someone had just told them; but, because God had chosen to give them the gift of true faith and by other evidence that the Lord had provided to them.

I certainly will not try to force you to believe anything; but, you're still wrong.

You should be careful of speaking evil of dignities, though. Without "true Christians" (although there are rather few these days) this world would have destroyed itself many times over just
with Nukes alone. Christians are to be "salt and light" salt (many older folks know this and one taught me) wasn't always just a seasoning; but a preservative also. Before refrigeration was invented meat that couldn't be eaten immediately was packed in salt and put in a cool springhouse. The salt preserved the meat until it was time to be used. Christians are here to "preserve" this world until Christ returns.

People will not be sent to hell for their unbelief; but, rather their sinful actions. It's not fair that any of us should go to Heaven...we are all guilty of some sin. It is because God is good that he chooses to save some from the punishment even we deserve.

Hell is real. It was created for Satan and all of the fallen angels. As Satan hates mankind,as it is a creation of God, he has made it his purpose to deceive as many unbelievers as possible, so he will have plenty of company in torment. Jesus mentioned hell many times in His earthly ministry. It is sad today that many people don't believe in the deity of Christ, the virgin birth, the death, burial, and resurrection, the rapture , the tribulation, the millennial reign, and the great white throne judgment. If what I believe is correct, you have lost everything.

I addition to the issue you raised, my major issue is with the notion of on-going torment for eternity instead of destruction of those God considers evil and a threat to the peace of the New Earth. I think the Adventists do a nice job of urguing that the eternal torture of god's enemies is bad exegesis and wishful thinking for the hateful who like the idea of people being tortured without a time limit (you know, Bush supporters). The question of eternal torment is asked and answered by an articulate Adventist at the link below, and it certainly is a viewpoint that makes God seem like less of an insane sadist.

Hell is not fiction. IT is a true place. In the Bible it says you won't go to Heaven because you're goo d but because of salvation. It's your fault that you didn't believe in God. You deserve to go to that dark place no matter how good you are. Here's what I learned in 5th grade: All you need to do is repent and believe and you shall be saved through Christ Jesus. All of you who are not is followers, repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

This pretty much sums up my theory on hell:

The gods of the Disc have never bothered much about judging the souls of the dead, and so people only go to hell if that's where they believe, in their deepest heart, that they deserve to go. Which they won't do if they don't know about it. This explains why it is so important to shoot missionaries on sight.

Of course you know how Baptists insist that we're all going to hell unless we convert. Here is Brother Harry Hardwick's message, attached.
