Anywhere from $50 - $100 per session. Depends on where you go and whether you buy a package with multiple sessions (usually cheaper).

Just go with what is more comfortable for you. I am a trainer, and don't work in a public gym. They don't pay the trainers and treat them like trash. Your gym is not your local k mart.
A private trainer or a private gym pays better, but that doesn't mean the trainers are better. They just got lucky to train in the right place. They never get as much as they need. I know you feel like you are pay an arm and a leg, but they only get a small part of that. They are the ones getting robbed, to get you in shape.

It's going to be better to go to a gym. You want to meet someone in a public place. The gym will also have all the equipment there, so you and the trainer can find the right weights for you to start out with etc.

Ive had a personal trainer for 7 month now and he charges me $40 an hour but Ive seen results faster than by myself so for me it was well worth the money.
