My husband and I ride our own harleys and on night pretty late we were riding home ( on the back country roads where we live) We came up on this american flag in the middle of the road by a trailer park that doesn't have the best rep of people living there. My husband was in front of me and went around the flag, while I was probably about 200 ft. behind. I slowed down to about 35-40- mph and as I did a approx 6ft man just wearing shorts throws a 52in. ceiling fan ( with light fixture ) at me on the bike. Yea a fu**ing ceiling fan. I almost go down but did burn the **** out of my leg on the pipes. Police get there after we called from down the road and as the one out of two officers try to hand cuff him he runs toward them yelling crazy stuff. Arfter almost getting shot, They get him to the police station and he had to have medical attention for 4 days to come off the drugs or whatever he is on. Wreakless endangerment? Don't you think he wanted to hit people since the flag was there.

Reckless endangerment is a statutory offense committed by creating a substantial risk of death or serious injury to another. That guy lacked the specific intent to hurt you. Instead, he was doing something stupid which he knew or should have known would hurt or kill somebody.

Talk about the $hit hitting the fan!

Well thats another story for the grandchildren.

jacartamonkey: I think it had to be a 52" fan. If it was ..say.. a 54" then she would have definatly lost control, but if it was a 48" then she would have not burnt here leg on the pipes. Then it must have been a 52" no doubt, simple law of physics. LOL, I know what does it matter!

The guy was me. I put the flag out as a way to get people to slow down so I could throw my ceiling fans at them. When I saw you were on a Harley I tried to stop but it was too late.

I doubt the flag had anything to do with it. If he was on drugs he probably didn't even know there was a flag there. People on drugs often hallucinate. He might have thought he was beating up a man trying to harm him with a baseball bat. Glad you're ok.

If he was throwing objects at human beings, that was disorderly conduct and "wreckless endangerment". It probably had more to do with his personal prejudices and/or his intoxicated condition that resulted from drug abuse than with the flag. He needs to be incarcerated until he gets into a rehabilitation facility.

I think a lot of people have flags at their house, especially after 9-11. This guy just sounds like he was on a trip from drugs, which is to bad cause they so ruin your life. :)

Reckless endangerment sounds like a mild charge. You might never know what was going through his drugged up brain. Keep safe.

I think the flag was bait. He knew people would slow down, stop, or at least swerve. No one(with brains) wants to defile the flag.
