If your girlfriend has a really really scary, over-protective, freaking controlling dad who wants to get into every little part and business of her life (but doesn't really care that much about you)... What would you feel? Would it lessen your desire for your girlfriend at all? Would you get scared of when you'd have to meet him and confront him about your relationship with his daughter? (He knows about you but he's mainly concerned with your girlfriend's life)

He is just protective because he loves his daughter. He wants what is best for her. Do not confront him about anything negative. I know that you wanted guys input on this, but, my Dad was that way about me, and NOW, I'm glad he was. You just try to make a good impression on him and it'll get easier for you and her to see one another.

Nobody should have to fear anything. If you are doing the right thing then there will be nothing to stop the right thing from happening. The trouble comes when your conscious tells you that maybe this isnt the right thing thats why dads are there. May be a little overprotective because he himself once was a lad. He knows whats up. Should seriously let dad in on as much as he wants but you can also tell him "dad your butting into my business a little too much for comfort do you mind:?>"

Hello rebekah h,

That's a tough one. It's hard for a guy to deal with an over-protective Father. The good part is that the Father can't follow you to school and harass him there. The Father knows pretty much what the guy is thinking, because he was in the same position himself just a few years earlier.

I don't know how old you guys are, but I imagine that he thinks that you are both too young to be in a serious relationship with just one person.

Your boyfriend is just going to have to learn to deal if he likes you enough. Good luck.

I'd be annoyed by him and it would be hard to not at least complain about it to the gf.... depending on how she sees it is how I would react... i don't like a girl that talks bad about her parents, but if she's gonna just back him and throw me under a bus, you bet your *** she's not gonna last long... if I am being a gentleman and he can't see that, then it will be his problem, but I feel bad for a girl in that position b/c she should not have to choose just because her dad is being a dick... I'm sure when he was banging his wife before they got married, he didn't think it was a big deal for HER dad...

why did the system block A$s but not dick?

Nothing wrong in directly talking to him and explain the love with his daughter

but dont woryy too much
