I go on my treadmill every morning and night for about an hour, sometimes as little more, at a time.
After a while, I begin to get sweaty, feel really hot, and sometimes get a little light-headed. I sometimes feel like I need to stop, but I keep on going.
I'm kind of afraid that I am going to collapse while I'm on the treadmill. That would not be good, because getting thrown while unconcious into a cement wall would really hurt.
Am I just dehydrated while I'm exercising? I know that pain is gain, and stuff, but I don't know when too much is too much.
When should I stop exercising?
Thanks.

Listen to your body's signals. If you get light-headed, get off the treadmill and drink some water, or keep a bottle of water in reach and slow the treadmill to an easy walk. You might want to lighten your routine for a week or so and slowly build it back up. Your body might just need a rest.

What are you wearing when you're on your treadmill? Hopefully not sweats, be sure you are dressed appropriate for it, shorts, no shirt or t-shirt, good tennis shoes and socks, etc. Have water handy any time you are exercising!
How long have you been exercising? If you're a beginner, this is way too much! Start with a half hour either in the morning or at night, if you are feeling good after 30 minutes, go to 45, and so on, but just do it once a day for now and see how you're feeling.
What is the speed that you're walking? Is it too fast? Are you on an incline? You may be pushing yourself too fast too soon, and this is very common when you first start a program. Do this: Get on the treadmill with your feet on both sides of the belt so it can start without you-start the treadmill, start it out nice and slow, at a regular pace for you, leave it here for 5-10 minutes, and then bump it up a notch. It's not necessary to get it going at full throttle until you've done this for awhile, keep it at a comfy clip for 30 minutes, if you feel light headed slow it way down and then get off. It sounds like you're overdoing it.
Remember: Dress appropriate, drink water, start out slowly, and just stay at a regular stride for 30 minutes, try to not push yourself, have it really cool where you are doing this, make sure you're eating enough, you can get real weak if you aren't.
It's very common to do too much too fast, so slow down, relax, and be consistent and the weight will come off, don't be in a hurry. Once a day!

Pain is sometimes just pain.
Extra hydration would help, but also listen to your body. If the treadmill is in your home, and you can go back to it whenever you want - stop when you feel you need to stop.
You can become addicted to exercise - you crave it when you really need to do other things like eat, sleep,go to the bathroom.
Don't let it take over your life. Moderation is important to make it a life style change, not a new obsession.

Treadmill? You have a treadmill for exercise? That's all you do? Get on the damned treadmill and walk for an hour? You don't have streets.... sidewalks.... trails.... a beach... roads... nothing else to walk on besides a treadmill? Gawd.... what a boring exercise program you have.
I get on a treadmill at the gym three times a week, for ten minutes... that's it. The only reason I get on the treadmill is to warm up before beginning my workout. When I don't go to the gym, I walk... for at least an hour... and I do it outdoors.... not on a stupid treadmill.

You should listen to what your body tells you. If you feel like you're going to collapse, then you've worked too hard or for too long or both.
About 30 mins of cardio a day, if you're breaking a sweat, 4-5 times a week is all you need for health and/or weightloss.

You may very well be light headed from dehydration, but you should stop immediately and get off when you feel this way.

Well you need to be on it for at least 20 minutes to start burning calories. So if you're on it for that about 40 min should do you fine.

Count out loud to 10...if you can't do it without taking a deep breath, you should at least back off. If you can't back off enough to be able to do it, it's time to stop.

When your body screams.."ENOUGH"! Seriously, quit when you
start to get tired. You've done enough by then.
