It is low blood sugar and can be as bad as diabetes if it is not treated and watched carefully. You would feel weak and listless with low blood sugar. Usually a glass of orange juice will allow you to feel better. Consult you doctor for his/her advice.

Good luck!!

Hypoglycemia is low levels of sugar in your blood. Normally, this does not happen to healthy people because your liver can make sugar (or break down glycogen - the storage form of sugar) to have you normo-glycemic. But for diabetic people with poorer control over their blood sugars, too much insulin injected, or poor intake of sugar, or even systemic causes like infection can lead to hypoglycemia.

In short....it is low blood sugar. This has to be managed, usually by certain foods that SLOWLY raise your sugar or keep it up. If your sugar in your blood system gets too low, it will cause you to feel light-headed and feel funny, which can cause you to pass out. So, your sugar needs to be maintained at a certain level that is comfortable for your body. Your doctor can help you with this.

Generally it means that your body does not produce enough insulin, so the sugar from the foods you eat doesn't get processed and goes to waste. Hypogycemic people generally have to eat every few hours to keep enough sugar in their blood.
