If a baby spends time with different people with different languages, would this get the baby confused or delay the baby from picking a particular language to speak

Not at all, babies' schematic cognitive learning is immense; some studies show that a baby can learn 2 or 3 languages simultaneously. In fact a baby exposed to any language learns it faster than any child or adult could. Remember also that babies learn and retain a great deal more words/vocabulary than they can verbalise in the first months of talking.

I actually have heard that babies can get confused early on, when language development first taking place. Some experts recommend waiting until toddlerhood to introduce new languages. Kids will learn much faster than adults, but when a baby is just starting to talk, it is best to keep things pretty simple.

I agree with sharp marble on the languages thing.

Babies develop at different ages though. My son was very advanced for his age (he was climbing over the stair gate at 10 months), whilst my daughter is only just saying her very first words at 18 months - (she does have a hearing problem though)

If he/she is exposed to different languages, im sure it will only be a benefit in the future.

No, my son is exposed to two different languages and it did not delay him at all. They can differentiate the two languages.
