Generally not comfortable or attractive, but there are exceptions.

Microfiber and Tencel type material look much more natural than the old "disco days" polyester. You'll find it in stock at Brooks Brothers and Barney's, among others. Low wrinkling, lightweight, and a more natural drape.

Beyond that type of high quality material, I wouldn't go much beyond a 60/40 blend in cotton or wool slacks. Some of my favorite dress pants in the summer are 60/40 cotton and some of my dressiest woll-based winter pants are 70/30 or so.

Bottom line - buy good quality pants, shirts, and jackets and you won't have to worry as much about what they're made of. If you can't afford the Brothers or Barney, learn a bit about the brands, then check out discount stores and even thrift shops for the good stuff. Hey, I've got an Armani suit that I bought almost new at a thrift shop outside of Boston. Thirty bucks worth of tailoring and I'm walking around in a suit that I otherwise couldn't afford.

I wish I could find more polyester pants. 100% polyester is wonderful, because it doesn't crease and is excellent for holidays. There are many different thicknesses. I have some dress pants and an all in one catsuit for evening in a light floaty polyester. Both are black. They wash and wear well. I have never found them too hot. I also own six pairs of lycra-style stretch everyday work pants.Three are black and three are navy. I have had them all for 16 years and wear them every day. Now those would be too hot for evening wear, but I wore them for work for years. Now I am retired I wear them in the house and even for gardening and decorating. I just wish that M&S still made them. They are thorn resistant, hardly ever need ironing if you hang them up, They are washproof, tumbledry proof...just be careful to use a cooler iron if you do press them. They even resist cat hairs and claws, though not for ever.

100% Dacron polyester is a great dress pants or slacks, especially, the color black if one is in a professional setting like an office. Just make sure the desk do not have any splinters in it or the polyester material will catch. Black is a good neutual color as iut goes with anything, and especially for women, it makes them much calmker while at work and one faces them at the desk. Also, dressy pants and profesional tops or dress shirts and ties means deiscipline and that one is obeying the dres code of a professional work environment.

Most dress pants are made of polyester. It can be hot but it usually isn't stifling. I need to dress up Monday and I will wear polyester dress pants. The quality is good too.

It's a synthetic material and yes it is hot because it does not breathe. Great for not wrinkling tho.,,so in that vein it is a good fabric for pants. The quality differs according to price. A little polyester mix if fine..and hang dry, no pressing.
