I took AP World my sophomore year. It was my first AP class and I did think it was much more reading than my Freshman Pacific Rim class, but I really enjoyed the class. What I considered the hardest though was writing DBQ's (Document Based Questions) where they give you like 7 documents and you have to answer some question in an essay using those documents. I know it sounds tough, but I think that you should take the class just check it out and if it seems too overwhelming, you can decide to stay or not.
Good luck!

i took AP history. sorry to admit, but it was hell! however, i had an amazing teacher who got me through it, and to this day is still one of my favorites.
the best thing you can do is meet with the teacher and find out what to expect. see the book(s) you'll be reading, types of assignments, amount of tests, quizzes, and or projects, etc.
make sure you will have the extra time to study and any help you may need along the way such as tutorial sessions, after class time with the teacher, and/or study sessions with other people in your class.
also, i doubt your the only one worried because AP classes can be intimidating but NOT impossible. my whole class was terrified when we first started, but afterwards i think it did prepare me for college in learning how to manage time and improve my study habits/skills. just put in the needed time and effort and you'll be fine.
good luck!

just go with it. besides, most AP classes are weighted, so if you make a C, it will count as a B, a B would be an A, etc. always challenge yourself, or you will never know how high you can fly!

You'll be fine. Just study and try to make it interesting. History can be pretty cool if you look into some of the stories that took place rather than just try to memorize the facts.
