The ral question is what features do you want and what not. You need to hit the stereo shops to listen to whats out there. Then you need to figure out what all you can stack into the car. I have a friend that owns a 99 eclipes and he has a great sound system that is loud and clean. It all depends on what you want from it though.

your car should have a double DIN slot so you can put pretty much anything in there you want. Crutchfield.com has really cool decks that have everything you need. cd/tape/mp3/dvd etc. pricey but really cool.

Go with all kicker and Alpine for the headunit. You will be amazed. This is my setup. Love it!
