He will not look at you in the eyes and if he does, his pupils will be very small, pupils are a good indication on if someone is interested in you or in what you are talking about. Also it is almost impossable to lie and look someone in the eye the entire time, they may glance away briefly, or move around a part of thier body, or give off nervous energy.

Aside from not looking you in the eye, look for obvious signs of nervousness. Yawning, impatience about the subject (if the subject is reasonable in nature). Be wary of extra details if you are questioning him about a specific incident.
People often pre-fabricate stories and have ready made details if they are good liars. I think the most important factor is your own instinct. If you think he is lying, there is probably a reason. Remember whenever there is a doubt there is no doubt.

I have ALWAYS found this little tidbit to be very true:
You can always tell if a guy is liying (or trying to anyway) if you ask him a question and he responds with, "HUH?" or "What?". As if he didn't understand or couldn't hear you...(this means they are trying to come with an ALIBLI or a lie that will make sense!! )Unlike men, us females who are ALOT smarter WE come up with an ALIBI or good excuse BEFORE the interrogation so we can answer all questions being quick witted and on our toes!! HENCE being alot more devious and alot harder to catch us in a lie!!

Well since women are always right, I would say we are lying whenever you accuse us of lying.

Dilated puples, R.E.M., some belive that looking to the right means someone is making something up, and looking to the left is attached with meomory of ACTUAL events.
Ultimatly, you can't.
So what it comes down to is trust, and the lack their of.

You can't unless you have had a long term relationship with the person and seen what his expressions are when you have caught him in a lie.

You can't really, but if he starts stuttering, looking away from you and messing with his hands, there is certainly an issue here. Good luck!

His story doesn't match up, he keeps looking to the left, stuttering, a lot of "ums" and "uhs", playing with his hands, etc.
