They have to full fill their sentence in a timely manner. When the judge says it has to be completed.

All kinds of organizations use community service workers. I am sure the court has many options.

Too many I am sure. Would have to contact the court for the specific numbers.

Ussually they will do community service when they are convicted of a nonviolent crime and it is a first offense (i.e. Underage Drinking, Possession of Pot/Paraphanellia, Petty Theft) Alot of cities, including mine, are making deliquents do work for the city (picking up trash along the highway or a park) some will let you do it for a Non-Profit like Salvation Army or a soup kitchen. Most deliquents will get some community service as part of their sentence, it ussually goes along with probation or diversion (process in which the crime will be gone with out any record at all ussually for those under 21 but over 18)

I know a guy who has had to do community service. He was 17 when arrested on a drug charge, but he was very polite, his mother has no record and she was with him, and he wanted to stay in school. They sentenced him to take drug classes, which he had to do a certain number of community service to pay for the classes. Now he goes back with his service record completed, takes the 8 week class, and then has some additional community service just to bug him, I guess.

deliquent have to do community service when they have did a crime but not a very serious crime that involves time in jail but enough to give that deliquent punishment in what he did, and who they do it for is issued out by the judge, its something like a job but dont get paid.
